Eleven-year-old Abby Herman is excited to attend summer camp for the first time, hoping to find a best friend. However, her excitement turns to apprehension when she discovers she is going to Camp Famous, a camp exclusively for famous kids. In order to fit in, Abby creates a fake identity as a famous author. She successfully blends in with the pop stars, princesses, and geniuses at camp, participates in activities, and even inspires a pop star. As the camp comes to an end, Abby faces a dilemma between maintaining her facade and embracing her true self. Camp Famous, described as a mixture of 'The Princess Diaries' and 'Harriet the Spy', is a fun and accessible summertime adventure that explores themes of fitting in, bravery, and authenticity.
