I Can Make This Promise

Inspired by her family’s history, Christine Day tells the story of Edie, a girl who uncovers her family’s secrets and finds her own Native American identity. All her life, Edie has known that her mom was adopted by a white couple, leaving her curious but uninformed about her Native American heritage. This curiosity intensifies when Edie and her friends find a box in the attic containing letters and photos of a woman resembling her, signed 'Love, Edith.' The discovery leads Edie to question if this woman could be part of the Native family she never knew and if she can trust her parents to reveal the truth about her origins.
