Jessi Ramsey is an animal lover who takes on pet-sitting jobs for her neighbors, including a challenging assignment with the Mancusi family who have a wide variety of pets ranging from dogs and cats to snakes and hamsters. Jessi faces multiple difficulties such as runaway dogs, sick animals, and even loose snakes. Additionally, tensions arise within the Baby-sitters Club, making her job even more complicated. Despite these challenges, Jessi is determined to handle her responsibilities and care for the pets.
