Description
'A flea asleep in the deep green moss nettled by midges wakes up cross, starts to fidget and turn and toss.' The flea's movements cause a chain reaction among various animals, starting with a grasshopper and followed by a bunny, dog, fish, bullfrog, horse, and another dog. Each animal leaps and upsets the next, until the dog ends up in the same deep green moss. The flea then leaps onto the dog, and they both fall asleep in the end.
