Mary Anne creates a community garden to honor her late neighbor Mrs. Townsend, learning about grief and forming new friendships through gardening with the Baby-Sitters Club. Separately, after her friend Amelia Freeman's sudden death, Mary Anne is devastated and struggles with deep sorrow. She decides to do something special to remember Amelia, as she processes her grief and finds ways to keep Amelia's memory alive.
