My Nana's Remedies/Los Remedios De Mi Nana

The book tells the story of a boy who spends time with his Nana, learning about the natural remedies she uses to treat various ailments. Through the sharing of these remedies, the boy gains a deeper understanding and appreciation for his cultural heritage and the wisdom passed down through generations. Additionally, it illustrates a little girl's experiences with her grandmother who prepares special teas and warm drinks for her and her little brother when they are unwell. Another children's book featured is about a warm and loving grandmother who prepares traditional remedies for her granddaughter to treat ailments and fears. The book is enriched with vibrant illustrations by Edna San Miguel and includes informational content on native medicinal plants prepared by ethnobotanist Ana Lilia Reina. The book was a finalist in the 2002 Foreword Magazine's Book of the Year Award and won the 2nd Place in the Royal Dragonfly Book Award in 2010.
