Not All Heroes
Description
Even though her family moved across the country for a 'fresh start' after her little brother's death, eleven-year-old Zinnia Helinski still feels stuck waiting for her new life to begin. Then she spots her new neighbor, Kris, climbing down the fire escape of their apartment building dressed in a black eye mask, Spandex leggings, and a blue body suit. Soon, Zinnia joins a secret club for kids who want to be heroes called the Reality Shifters. The club members don't have superpowers, but they strive to make positive changes in their neighborhoods. As Zinnia immerses herself in real-life adventures, she initially feels invincible and enjoys having friends who share her enthusiasm. These adventures are ones her late brother, Wally, would have loved. However, challenges arise when her teammates lose sight of their goals, and Zinnia must learn to balance bravery with recklessness to truly be a hero without needing a cape.
