Nothing remarkable has ever happened to her, except for the cat that gives her funny looks from next door. Naturally, she is very surprised when she is recruited to join The Resistance – a team of superheroes who can read minds, and have a dastly villain to defeat. However, Opie can't read human minds, only animal ones, which disappoints the other members of the Resistance. A whole world of animal chat and demands opens up to her. She’s still a superhero, but one who spends her time chatting to a pedantic worm in the mud. When the Resistance is captured, it turns out that Opie's ability to listen to all creatures great and small might just be what makes her the right person to save the world.
