Description
In New Mexico in the early 1940s, Pinto, a nine-year-old Pueblo Indian boy, decides to help his family have a better Christmas by searching for another source of turquoise when the mines on which his jeweler grandfather depends close due to the war. Pinto embarks on a dangerous journey with his burro, Ambrosio, to find a secret mine known to his grandfather. Despite facing steep mountains, wild arroyos, and fierce animals, Pinto's bravery leads him to the mine, bringing home turquoise and providing for his family.
