Spell Sweeper

Most students at Dragonsong Academy spend their days practicing spells and wielding wands, but after flunking her sixth-grade standardized tests, Cara Moone is on the fast track to becoming a MOP (a.k.a. Magical Occurrence Purger). As a MOP, Cara's job is to clean up the dangerous residue left behind from spells, called spell dust. No student makes more of a mess than the academy’s star student, Harlee, who is believed to be the Chosen One destined to save the magical world. However, Harlee's spells begin to create rifts in the fabric of magic itself, leading Cara to suspect that Harlee might destroy the world instead of saving it. Cara must use more than magic to tackle this unprecedented mess, a task she's surprisingly suited for. This middle grade fantasy puts an imaginative twist on magic school, making it perfect for fans of the genre.
