The Bad Beginning

The Bad Beginning is the first book in A Series of Unfortunate Events, written by Lemony Snicket. The book follows the story of Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire, three orphans whose parents die in a fire. They are sent to live with a distant relative, Count Olaf, who attempts to steal their inheritance. The story is narrated by Lemony Snicket, who warns the reader of the unpleasant events that befall the Baudelaire siblings, including encountering a greedy villain, itchy clothing, a disastrous fire, a plot to steal their fortune, and cold porridge for breakfast.
