The Clue of the Leaning Chimney

Nancy Drew becomes entangled in a case involving a ring of art thieves and a Chinese import shop after a valuable object goes missing. With her friends Bess and George, they follow the mystery to professional excavators in search of a rare Chinese vase, leading them into dangerous situations involving explosives and kidnapping. During their investigation, they encounter a sinister stranger and learn about a series of similar crimes, including the theft of a valuable vase from a pottery shop owned by Bess's cousin, Dick Milton. Dick, who had borrowed the vase from his elderly Chinese friend Mr. Soong, believes that finding 'the leaning chimney' will solve his financial problems. However, finding the chimney only deepens the mystery, raising questions about the connection between the vase theft and the disappearance of pottery expert Eng Moy and his daughter Lei.
