The Fabulous Zed Watson!

Zed Watson, a non-binary tween, embarks on a literary scavenger hunt to locate a mysterious, unpublished novel called The Monster’s Castle. Alongside their neighbor Gabe and Gabe's sister Sam, they set off on a road trip following cryptic clues. Despite facing misgendering and other challenges, the journey is filled with kind strangers, dance-offs, and ice cream. With the help of Gabe and Sam, Zed not only seeks the treasure but also experiences friendship, identity, and belonging. Written by the child-parent duo Basil Sylvester and Kevin Sylvester, the story highlights an Own Voices perspective and celebrates diversity.
