The Outcast

The Outcast is a prequel to the Guardians of Ga'Hoole series, telling the story of Hoole, a young barn owl who embarks on a perilous journey to fulfill his destiny as the legendary king of the owls. Nyroc, having exiled himself from the Pure Ones, flies alone, haunted by creatures conjured by Nyra and despised as Kludd's son. He yearns to join the noble owls at the great tree but is held back by his lineage. Instead, he glimpses a new destiny in the flame over his father's bones, leading him toward a dark, lawless place known as The Beyond the Beyond, where he seeks to forge his own path.
