The Whispering Statue

In 'The Whispering Statue', Nancy Drew, along with her friends Bess and George, tackles two intertwining mysteries involving a ring of art thieves. The first mystery revolves around a potential swindle concerning a valuable collection of rare books commissioned to be sold by a supposedly reputable art dealer, suspected to be a fraud by the owner, Mrs. Merriam. The second mystery is the theft and return of a marble statue, rumored to whisper, which bears an uncanny resemblance to Nancy herself, and is later discovered to be a replica. Disguised and using a false identity, Nancy confronts various dangers including an attempted kidnapping and a sailboat collision, eventually gathering critical evidence against the art thieves to solve the cases.
