Things Seen from Above
Description
This novel explores the lives of two sixth graders, April and Joey, who see the world differently. April becomes a 'buddy bench monitor' to escape the social pressures of lunch hour, and meets Joey, a loner who expresses his thoughts through 'bird's eye' drawings in the dirt. Told through April's text and Joey's art, their alternating viewpoints reveal how they find their rightful places by shifting perspectives.
