Brother detectives Frank and Joe embark on a new adventure in the twenty-second book of the Hardy Boys Adventures series, as they investigate a series of accidents threatening a remote island. Invited by their Aunt Trudy, who won an internship with celebrity chef Colton Spark, they travel to Rubble Island off the coast of Maine. The boys stay at the Seaspray Inn, where the prestigious Golden Claw Awards, which Colton is cooking for, is hosted. Despite the island's scenic views and close-knit community, the locals' disdain for Colton and a string of mishaps at the inn raise suspicions. The situation escalates when the Golden Claw trophy goes missing the night before the awards and a massive storm isolates the island, heightening tensions.
