The book follows the adventures of Geronimo Stilton, a talking mouse who lives in New Mouse City on Mouse Island. In this installment, Geronimo must deal with his sneaky cousin Trap, who is trying to trick him into buying a moldy old mansion filled with ghosts and other spooky creatures. Additionally, the story introduces Geronimo Stiltonoot, an ancient ancestor of Geronimo, who stars in the Cavemice series. In this spin-off, Geronimo Stiltonoot faces challenges such as meteor showers and a widespread stomachache among his fellow cavemice. He embarks on a perilous journey to the Cave of Memories to find a cure, facing various dangers along the way.
